Personal Works

All of the works here are pieces I’ve made during class or during my free time. There is a mixer of fabric projects and paper prints in this category. There are many things that influence me, but bright colors, music, and nature are my biggest inspirations.

Studio Time

These are some pictures of me working on my project during my class time. All these photos were taken during my "Washing Machine Heart" piece. I am shown color matching, inking and cleaning my screen, as well as preparing my screen for my next emulsion layer.

About Me!!

Hello! My name is Kamilah (more commonly known as Jupiter!) and I am an artist born and raised in Los Angeles.I graduated from CSULB with a BA in Studio Arts, with a focus on printmaking. I took printmaking in my final semesters in college and fell in love with the process! My next steps in life is finding my footing in the printing industry and help create people's designs. I want my education to go beyond what I’ve learned in classes and apply my expertise in the real world.I love being in the middle of a busy studio color swatching, burning screens and laying ink on paper. All of this as I help my fellow peers create and settle on designs of their own. Creating a space to rely on each other while multitasking and completing my tasks is the type of environment that reminds me of my passion for printmaking, and I want my next step in life to continue leading me down that thrill!I’m looking for a screen printing shop that can evolve my skills and challenge me throughout the journey.
